Great article but is it really that different? The owner/publisher/as small group of editors have always declared who they think is the best candidate but who really cares? I don't care what Bezos thinks and I don't care what a small group of Washington Post editors think. And is independent media better? It might be even worse. Small media outfits are depending on their audience for their livelihood and are unlikely to say things that anger their audience. They are also even more susceptible bribes as shown by the recent Tenet Media incident showed.
