Great article on the how to do it but what about the why? Was it worth it? For example you said you were getting paid less than your peers before you left Singapore and then you made many sacrifices and finally succeeded (I think) Working for a Japanese company doesn't seem that fun or rewarding so I'm curious. Most happy foreigners I know in Japan seem to have somehow done something entrepreneurial or a few really love teaching, the ones working for Japanese corporations long term don't seem that happy.
