Hi Kathy. Thank you for your message. For teaching it seems like Elbow wrote the first famous article but as you say I'm sure it goes way back. I wonder if there are some farther back in Greece, Rome, China, or India. That would be a good article. By blog do you mean Medium or do you have a blog on Wordpress or similar site? (OK, I see it now!)
