I can't agree with you here. "Attempted Coup" depends on the intent, not on the competence or chance of success of the coup. Did they intend to stop the proceedings and somehow stop the transfer of power? Yes. Did they use physical force? Yes. It was incompetent and delusional but it was an attempted coup.
