I think that is the lesson. If you want something done just get on with it. Do it yourself the way you want to do it without fuss. Why were you asking someone else to throw a quilt over a couch? If it is simple just do it! But no you were too lazy to do it yourself but you had to "show" him how? Seriously?! You sound insufferable. I'd be thankful anyone would put up with living with you at all with that attitude. They are likely ignoring you because you are a constant stream of complaints and demands but you are family so it is hard to escape and they don't want big conflicts over nonsense.
