If we are thinking this way can't we say the same about Russia? They idealistically think they are the equal to the West and they have been provoking the West for years and now they are finding out they can barely sustain a war with a small nation on their border. They now face the economic and possibly military might of a 10X larger NATO bloc. The West has a lot of power. Russia didn't know its place and will now pay the price. They chose poorly. It can go both ways.
