I'm going to go against everyone's opinions and say it is completely acceptable and reasonable to not want to date someone who is going to write and publish about the details of your relationship. As you say, who wants that sort of drama? I don't think this is a matter of culture or gender. If I'm involved intimately with someone I don't want them broadcasting our private moments to the whole internet. Some people like their lives to be an open book, some are private. There is nothing wrong with either. By not dating you this man was not denying your personality or trying to control you. He was expressing his personal preference for his own personal life, one that does not seem strange to me at all. Simply find and date people who share your passions. No reason to bad mouth someone exercising autonomy over their own life.
