I've heard some of the arguments you are refering to from pro-russian fascist commenters but really it is 100% irrelevant. Does a country have to be a perfect victim before we denounce it being attacked? Ridiculous. Western democracies are not perfect and Ukraine is a flawed democracy but how does being conquered by Russia help? Russia is a complete dictatorship, Russian occupied Donbass is one of the least free places on the planet currently. Do we have to accept all sorts of invasions and wars because the target is not a perfect society? The poor moral calculations of many people is shocking. We can all worry about internal Ukrainian problems once the Russian fascist army is driven back and peace is achieved.
