Just write good articles that people want to read. Do you think the most well read writers on Medium are fretting over how someone clapped on their article? No they don't, it's a waste time, they write another article. I can't even imagine looking up claps and then getting emotional about how one individual clapped.

BTW tagging a list of people at the bottom of your article is at least as cringy as someone supposedly clapping without reading an article.
