? Not odd at all and not imposing martial law in no way changes the facts of the incident. It was an incompetent failed coup attempt, the intention was clearly to stop the peaceful transfer of power. If it had been a little worse martial law may have been imposed on Washington, DC. but thankfully it petered out quickly.
