Thank you. That was a very powerful story. I had a similar 50 year experience with my brother who died recently. It is hard to know what you could have done better. You can't force someone to be better. One friend who recovered said, "We all go down alone." That seems a sad but true. We are always there for our loved ones even at great sacrifices like you described your father making but it is still up to the individual in the end.
