That was my impression. Both men and women who have lots of options don't have to try as hard usually. The author may be looking for a serious partner but the men she is going for are not looking for serious partners and/or are very attractive and aren't that into her. Saying the are struggling to find partners is pure cope. The author is struggling to find a partner but wants to project accountability for her failure so far outwards to men. It won't work.
