Things are not going well in America, granted. But to compare it to the past and current Russian totalitarian regimes is crazy. Does he think Russians are freely accessing information especially about the war in Ukraine? It is a crime to even refer to it as a war. Does he think Russians can say what they think or protest or be in oppostion to Putin? And really does any of it really matter when Russian troops crossed the border and started killing people? Not sure what has happened to Chomsky but it is sad.
