This is a logical fallacy of appeal to authority. Chomsky is right or wrong based on his logic and facts not by the fact of being Chomsky. I am particularly disappointed in his views on Ukraine precisely BECAUSE of what he had to say on other conflicts such as in Nicaragua. Currently one of the worst dictators of our time has launched one of the largest invasions of our lifetime against its neighbor. The focus should be stopping the aggressor not worrying about the feelings of the aggressor. Could you imagine 1980s Chomsky saying to Ortega what 2022 Chomsky is saying to Zelensky? Just apply Chomsky's words about Ukraine to Central America. Insane! "Look Sandinistas, I know the Samosa and the Contras are bad and I can understand fighting back but you have to think about the feelings of Uncle Sam, this is his backyard. How dare you look for outside help while you are under attack! They are stronger than you, you should just give up and give them what they want before more people get hurt." Could you imagine the Chomsky of the 1980s saying that?
