Ukraine hasn't been "pressed into service", they were invaded. For heaven's sake get a basic grip on reality. An invasion is when armed men cross a border and start killing people so they can control the enemy. That is what Russia did. This is a violent escalation. What Ukraine did was get attacked, this is not an escalation.
